FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Where is HOMTPA located?
HOMTPA was designed as an Association, not an actual place. HOMTPA is anywhere fellow HO Monster Truck / Pullers are active in competition.
However, if your looking for the 'unofficial' home base (where HOMTPA was conceived) and the location most activities on this site come from, we're located at:

Greenbrier Raceway
c/o John Peckham
64 Greenbrier Lane
Rochester, N.Y. 14623

Do you sell any trucks?
As a rule, no. (we did build a limited number of trucks for sale but they are gone).
Sorry, it takes a good 2-3 days to build a 'basic' Monster and (at the moment) the time is just not there.

How do you build / make the Monster Trucks work?
This question will be answered soon. I hope to have detailed instructions on site in the near future. (DONE)

What is a 'Marchon' Monster?
Other than a sore subject for me, a 'Marchon' Monster Truck is a production HO Monster (actually, slightly larger than HO) produced around 1993. Marchon's Monster Truck Racing 'set' consisted of 2 Monster Trucks (Bigfoot & Snake Bite) and some rather unique 'hazard' track sections.
The Marchon Company has since been bought out and the Monster Truck line dropped.
.
How do you make the 'Dirt' tracks?
Get some ultra fine hobby dirt (ground cover) and go to your nearest paint shop and have them mix up some latex paint to match the 'dirt'.
Paint the track and while the paint is still wet, sprinkle on the dirt. Keep the dirt away from the electrical rails as much as possible.
Once dry, do some clean up, (sand the rails, clear the slots, etc.)

<>What is an HOMTPA show about?
A HOMTPA show is just that... an exhibition of  HO scale Monster Trucks, Pullers, and Off-Road racing (plus some added surprises).
HOMTPA shows are a great way to help promote other events such as major races, swap meets, hobby shop grand openings, etc.. In addition, HOMTPA show may be seen at many types of events outside the slot racing community... like 1:1 car shows.
All HOMTPA shows are strictly for fun and information. NOTHING is sold or ordered at any HOMTPA display.
Now for the bad news... HOMTPA shows are very limited. Times and locations play a large part in scheduling a HOMTPA event.
If intrested in having a HOMTPA exhibition show at your next event, contact John Peckham for details.
