Our HOMTPA
exhibition
track as seen at the 1990 ISCA Auto show in Rochester, N.Y..
The outer lanes (4) are for Off-Road
racing and Pulling (back straight).
The inner lanes (single loops) are
Monster territory. The Inner lanes are equipped with 3 sets of Electric
Eyes so that many courses may be run for versatility.
.
While an Off Road
layout doesn't need to be this elaborate, this is the newest track we
use
for exhibitions (easier to move than above).
On a 3.5' x 8'
table,
the track is used for Off Road and Super truck racing/competition
(entire
track), as well as Pulling and Monster Truck racing (main straight).
The main Off Road
features are the two 3" hairpin corners and the two jumping mounds
which
stretch the entire width of the 12 lane (total) 'zig-zag' area.
The front straight
is equipped with electric eye timers and lighting plugs (sockets for
X-mas
tree and signal lights) for Monster Truck and Super Truck event timing.
A close-up photo
of the 'zig-zag' hill and 3" hairpin turn(s) area. It's a tight fit for
the Dune Buggies as they zip through the hairpin, but just keeping
track
of WHICH lane your on is a challenge as vehicles go 'back & forth'
over the 12 lane wide hill area.
A series of photos
showing what happens when a group of 'Modified' trucks
meet in the hairpin turn.

using Styrene bodies
(they get pretty beat up - we just
glue 'em back together)
